What’s new?

This update brings sweeping new features and design changes to Scrite.

Support for industry standard formatting

One consistent feedback we received from many of the early adopters of Scrite, who are professional screenplay writers themselves, was this: Scrite must support industry standard formatting. Infact our mentors: Director Abhaya Simha & Director Adarsh Eshwarappa were also suggesting that we start focusing on industry standard formatting.

With 0.4.0 Beta, we now support industry standard formatting. There is surely more work to be done in this area. For example: while handle breaking up of dialogue blocks across page boundaries, we need to ensure that we include MORE and CONT’D markers. That part is not yet done. But we have laid the foundation for moving away from the previous screenplay editor.

Brand new UI

This version sports a brand new look and we believe that the new UI is cleaner, less cluttered and a pleasure to use.

You can read more about this change here.

Page numbering & page count

Scrite now reports page numbers and page count as you type.

Instant screenplay preview

Scrite now shows preview of the screenplay at the click of a button. Its no longer necessary to generate a PDF to preview your screenplay output.

Download and install the latest update of Scrite and try out all these new features.

Did you like the new UI? Are there things you would want to tweak? Let us know your feedback here. We respond to each and every feedback, but sometimes it takes a while for us to revert. We are a small team and are juggling between many things at the moment. But we absolutely appreciate your feedback.
